Sunspots and Hyperpigmentation

Although being in the sun can be enjoyable and make you feel good, the reality is, if your skin is unprotected the sun can have damaging effects. Skin will often form sunspots or “brown spots,” or develop areas of hyperpigmentation, leaving the skin discolored. However, depending upon the severity, damage can often be reversed or reduced.

Chemical peels
Chemical peels help reduce the depth of surface lines, smooth skin texture and clear brown or sunspots and areas of pigment problems. We utilize many formulas, some of which contain natural fruit acids to help loosen dead skin cells, allowing healthier skin to surface. The addition of specific ingredients, some naturally occurring and other prescription strength, target sun spots and help even overall skin color.

*If you are using Retin-A or Accutane, it is recommended that Retin-A use be stopped five days pre and post peel. If you use Accutane, please let us know and we will use a peel appropriate for your skin type.

Microdermabrasion
This is a mechanical exfoliation of the outermost layers of the skin that helps increase circulation, unclogs pores and promotes cellular turnover. It is also very effective for the treatment of mild scarring and fine lines. For best results, a series of treatments may be suggested. You can also upgrade your microdermabrasion to a Deluxe, which adds a relaxing, hydrating treatment for the skin. You may also add a chemical peel solution for maximum penetration of acne and other conditions. Resurface and reinvigorate your skin with a microdermabrasion.

Fotofacial
A Fotofacial uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy in addition to microdermabrasion. The treatment uses various colors of LED light to focus on areas of concern. The treatment focuses on the tiny vessels, generally seen at the skin’s surface on the nose cheeks and chin. The combined treatments provide better results. Reverse the signs of damage.

Treating your skin from the inside out with prescription medication such as antibiotics and topical solutions may be the best option for you to maintain optimal results.
